Boston: 1871 and the Miracle Braves
The club began as the Boston Red Stockings in 1871, which makes it one of the oldest continuously operating teams in professional sports. Atlanta: Worst to First and Fourteen Straight
The Braves arrived in Atlanta in 1966. The modern era began in 1991, when the club went from last place the previous season to the World Series, and the run that followed remains the defining achievement of the franchise: fourteen consecutive division titles from 1991 through 2005. The 1995 team finished the job and won the World Series. The 2021 club won it again, adding the franchise's fourth title. Since 2017 the Braves have played at Truist Park.
