Few franchises carry history like the Chicago Cubs. Founded in 1876 as a charter member of the National League, the club spent more than a century at the center of baseball's most beloved and tortured story - the 108-year wait between the 1908 championship and the 2016 crown that finally broke the Curse of the Billy Goat under a Chicago sky in extra innings.

That 2016 title team - Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, Javier Baez and the young slugger Kyle Schwarber who opened the Fall Classic with a blast - turned Wrigley Field from a landmark into a shrine. The ivy-covered walls have stood since 1914, home to Ernie Banks ("Mr. Cub," 512 home runs, two MVPs) and Ryne Sandberg, and now to a new generation racing toward October.

The 2026 Cubs are winning with youth: outfield sensation Pete Crow-Armstrong is among the leaders in all of baseball with 38 home runs, while Seiya Suzuki anchors the lineup and Nico Hoerner patrols second base with a Gold Glove.
