Ernie Banks spent all 19 of his seasons with the Chicago Cubs and won back-to-back National League MVP awards in 1958 and 1959 - still the only shortstop to do it. He hit 512 home runs, was the first Cubs player to have his number retired, and went into the Hall of Fame in 1977. Mr. Cub never played a postseason game, and the number 14 hangs at Wrigley Field.
