Brewers History: From the Seattle Pilots to the Brew Crew

The franchise began as the Seattle Pilots in 1969 and moved to Milwaukee ahead of the 1970 season, where the club has stayed ever since. The Brewers played in the American League through 1997 before moving to the National League in 1998, and they have called the National League Central home since then. The high-water mark remains 1982, when a lineup nicknamed Harvey's Wallbangers won the American League pennant behind AL MVP Robin Yount and reached the World Series for the only time in franchise history. Milwaukee has taken eight division titles and reached the postseason twelve times, and the club plays its home games at American Family Field, which opened in 2001 and holds 41,900.
