New York Mets

New York Mets Jerseys

New York was granted a National League expansion franchise in 1962 to fill the gap left by the departed Giants and Dodgers, and the club played its first seasons at the Polo Grounds before Shea Stadium opened in 1964 and Citi Field in 2009. The Mets won the 1969 World Series behind Tom Seaver and the 1986 title with Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden, then took the National League pennant in 2000 and 2015. From Seaver and Mike Piazza through David Wright, Jacob deGrom and Pete Alonso, the orange and blue has never been short of a story.

Stitched, Not Printed

Every jersey here is built the way a baseball uniform is supposed to be built: layered tackle twill for the numerals and the nameplate, sewn down with satin stitching rather than heat-pressed onto the surface. That is why the numbers keep their shape and their raised edge through a full season.

Care Instructions

Turn the jersey inside out and machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach, and do not tumble dry on high heat, because heat breaks down both the twill adhesive and the mesh. Hang or lay flat to dry, then press the stitched areas lightly on the reverse side only. Keep the lettering away from a hot iron face so the satin stitching keeps its sheen.
